Hydrapower has launched a new online 3D product configurator for its R-210 welded hydraulic cylinder range, giving customers an on-demand way to configure cylinders, access product information, and submit requests for a quote. Powered by CADENAS, the new tool helps customers move quickly from identifying their requirements to finding a standard product that fits their application.
Hydrapower manufactures hydraulic cylinders and actuators used across agricultural and industrial equipment. Its customers range from engineers and design consultancies to hydraulic service providers and end users, creating a wide variety of requirements for both new equipment and replacement applications.
The R-210 Series represents Hydrapower’s standard welded cylinder range, featuring cylinder sizes with bores up to 8 inches and strokes up to 3,500 millimeters.
For Hydrapower, improving access to that standard range was an important step toward reducing response times. Previously, customers often contacted the company directly with measurements, drawings, or application specifications to create a cylinder for their application. Hydrapower’s team would then determine the appropriate cylinder and, when needed, prepare CAD files or other product information.
“A big thing is response time and ensuring the customer has all the information they need to make better decisions,” said Colin McDowell, General Manager at Hydrapower. “Rather than needing to talk with us and have us produce custom CAD files and information, customers can now select from standard options and choose a cylinder that gets as close to their specifications as possible, without the cost of a custom design.”
With the R-210 configurator, customers can identify a standard cylinder that closely matches their requirements and submit an RFQ directly through the online tool. This creates a faster path from product selection to pricing while helping Hydrapower reserve engineering resources for more specialized applications.
For service and maintenance applications, customers can also use measurements from an existing cylinder to quickly identify a potential R-210 replacement.
“The idea is that customers can use our tool to quickly configure a replacement for their cylinder, then get pricing and order from us or have us build a custom solution in a reasonable time frame to minimize equipment downtime,” McDowell said.
